My name is Pratiwi Ramandita.I was born on Surabaya,the beautiful city in east Java and the bigger city in Indonesia after Jakarta. I like surabaya,because Surabaya has many important and interesting places. Beside that,Surabaya has many traditional food too. Word of Surabaya are from SURA,it means shark get from Java language and BAYA,it means crocodile get from Java language too. The location of Surabaya city on North beach of of east java province.Most of people in Surabaya is from Java people. They have an emotional attitude. One of the reason why Surabaya is far from Palace culture,the center of Java culture. But,there are many people from Tionghoa, madurism,and Arabian are living in Surabaya. Most of religion of Surabaya people are Moslem. Sometimes people who live in Surabaya city for a long time,they speak Suroboyoan language. The words are worst. There are many kinds of culture from Surabaya,like ludruk, Remo dance, and Kidungan. Every once a year,Surabaya usually open Cak Durasim Festival. It is an act festival to keep Indonesian culture. Beside that, in Surabaya there are Surabaya Festival Act, they are theaters, traditional dances, traditional musics, painting galeries, and etc . act festival.
Surabaya has many kinds of traditional foods too, like Rujak cingur, Indonesian salad ( it called Gado- gado), Tahu tek, Krengsengan, Lontong balap and etc. The price start from Rp 5000,- - Rp 20.000,- depends on the situation and place. It is not expensive,so you can choose the delicious one. Then,you can visit an important place and interesting place in Surabaya. There is religious place,it is Ampel. There are many arabian people and they usually sell anything for moeslim like Koran(holybook), headcraft, tasbih,and etc. You can visit Museum too,like 10 November museum, Kapal selam museum,and House of sampoerna museum. Most of foreign people from the other country visit that place to know the history of Surabaya. They don't forget to take a picture too. If you want to see many kinds of animals with your family, you can go to Surabaya zoo. The prices from Monday to Friday Rp 10.000,- and Sunday Rp 15.000,- . You can take a picture and ride some of the animals like elephants and horses. If you want to go that place to know more about Surabaya city, there are many choices to go there. If you have a lot of money and you want to get nice facilities with air conditionair, you can choose taxi. But,it is quite expensive depends with your destination. But you can choose bemo (public vehicle) or bus to get cheap prices. But if you want breathe fresh air and enjoy the scenery of surabaya city, you can get the cheapest one with pedicab. But depends on the situation and the distance that you choose. If you choose far destination,maybe the driver of pedicab don't want to take you to that place.
